Just as open we at Bod Khyi are with joy and happiness, we are with the less good sides of kennel life and breeding.
Dogs are living material. Combinations are genetics matching by chance. Sometimes the outcome is good and everlasting. Sometimes it turns out a litter have shorter lifespan than expected. Vanna came from a repeated mating where first litter blessed us with dogs old as 12. The second litter is not that blessed.

The sad part, the really sad part is us loosing a really, really good friend. 58 kg, 70 cm strong willed beautiful tibetan mastiff. She can never be replaced.
Heatwave

30 degrees C and really hot for several days. It drains both energy and spirits. The five lie still in the shade in the corners of the dog runs where there is the most breeze. At night they stay indoors with fans on. Dear husband takes them on late, cool but short walks. Rain is coming at the weekend. Longing for it!...
Midsummer

Tradition at Sältet calls for midsummer wreaths. The dogs are not as fond of the idea as I am. Once the wreath has been photographed, if it is still intact, it ends up on the TM profile that hangs on the barn wall. It stays there until the autumn wreath arrives sometime in October.
