Midsummer

Tradition at Sältet calls for midsummer wreaths. The dogs are not as fond of the idea as I am. Once the wreath has been photographed, if it is still intact, it ends up on the TM profile that hangs on the barn wall. It stays there until the autumn wreath arrives sometime in October.

Plans are being made for new blood to the kennel and maybe, time will tell, a new breed as well. This whole thing with dogs and breeding is fun and inspiring! 

Fuega is out training, roughly every other day, to meet people. She is naturally curious about different environments, but when it comes to people it has been a bit hit and miss. Her strategy when she feels uneasy is to flee. With cheese in tube, she gets to lick her way forward and ease her worries. Yesterday was a bullseye at Möklinta Kennel Club’s ring training. Fuega relaxed and was happy by the end of the hour. There is joy in these steps forward.
